My name is Joanne Wyld (MAR) and i am a qualified Reflexologist (level 5 diploma - the highest you can obtain) accredited by Napier university. I am a full member of the Association of reflexologists (AoR) and Complementary natural healthcare council
I have always had a keen interest in alternative therapies, but my interest in reflexology began when I was twenty years old, and travelling the World! My first experiences of reflexology were during my time in Asia and I was immediately fascinated by the theory behind the practice and the methods being used. The treatment I received there made me feel fantastic, which only strengthened my interest in the subject..
I finished my time at University (where I completed a degree in Psychology and Computing) and I immediately fell into project & product management, mainly working for big media companies in London. As successful and enjoyable as these roles were, i never felt completely fulfilled and knew that I was not 'made' for office life.
Then everything changed.
Having two young children completely altered my drive and motivation and I was determined to pivot my life to do something that I was passionate about.
It was while I was on my second maternity leave that I embarked on my journey to become a practicing reflexologist and after careful consideration, chose the clinical reflexology (level 5) course at The Complementary Therapy School.
The course was incredibly detailed and thorough, involving more than 100 hours of reflexology treatment, case studies and (what felt like) endless essays.
Doing this with a 9 month old baby and a 3 year old and working full time was no mean feat, but through a lot of late nights and using my weekends I’m very happy to say that I was able to realise my dream.
As I write this, I am proud to be my own boss and even more proud of my 'Next Step Reflexology' business.
Since becoming a clinical reflexologist i have undertaken and passed CPD course in maternity reflexology (run by sally Earlam), Baby and Toddler reflexology and have completed part 1 of reproductive reflexology (ARR)
Reflexology can help people at every stage of their life and I sincerely hope you share my belief in that. And even if you don’t. I’d love the chance to try and change your mind!
